Demo mode works, Bootload mode doesn't

Hi,
I have been using the PICDEM FS USB Demo Board for a while now without any problem. Everything was working fine including the Bootload mode in the software supplied.
Then recently, it has stopped working. The Bootload mode will not recognise that the PICDEM Board is even connected, in the drop down menu it is simply blank, with no board selection present. However, in the Demo mode, I can easily select the PICDEM Board from the drop down menu and connect to it!
I do not know why this is happening, but I need to load on some hex files. If anyone has any idea why this is happening or another way to load on hex files, it would be greatly appreciated.
