Hello to all,
surfing the http://www.hobbypic.com web site, the site that "heavily influenced" Mat for the USB article (thanks again Mat) I found a good project about color LCD, used by cellular phone like Nokia, driven by PIC.
Reading the article I discover that the price of this LCD is not so much and the hardware and software project is not so hard.
I suggest to read all the article because there are usefull links to C library to drive the LCD and some tips to solder it. And there is a link to a online shop with all the LCD prices.
So what do you think about a project using a 13 dollar color LCD attached to the SPI interface of the PIC?

Hey,
I was planning on giving this a test spin at some point, J1M has given me permission to translate the articles into English and publish them here, so all being well I'll get round to that soon! The screens should be pretty easy to pick up on ebay as they are only nokia ones!
Give it a go! (let us know how it turns out  )
