Displays USB Not Recognize, has mulfunctioned

Hi, Excelent Article

I followed the Basic USB - Using Microchip Stack and C#.Net aticle. I build the circuit on a bread board with the exact values of resistors and capacitor except for the 4k7 between RA1 and VDD which I've made it 4k6 (using three resistors in series) due to the fact that I hadn't any 4K7 resistors. I programmed the PIC using C18 compiler from the article and till there its all ok. But when I plug the usb connector to the pic (Without powering up the PIC) Led on RD1 turns solid for a second or two than LEDs on RD0 & RD1 starts to fash (one and one not together). After approx. 7 seconds they stop. Windows displays USB Device not recognised and do not ask for any drivers. Can I get any help please? thank you!

Note: The USB connector is approx. 2.5cm (1 inch) away from the pic! May this be the problem?

Hmmm, breadboards are quite critical, and often lead to problems (especially with USB!).
Could you create a small PCB? Maybe even just based on those "multi-hole" boards...

Hey,
Thank you for your reply, it worked now! windows is recognizing the PIC device and is asking for the drivers and I installed them. But i have one last problem! when connecting the PIC to the PC, windows is recognizing it under other devices on the device manager but after a second or two, it disappears from the device manager and windows makes the same sound of when doing a safe remove for a generic device. I can't figure out the reason. Can you help me on this please?

When I put the MP3 in the cpu to download songs it says the device is mulfunctional and the windows did not recognize it. How should this be worked, help!

I meant that using a Breadboard may cause troubles, and suggested you make a real PCB. But, you said it was working, at some point...
